The Seville Marathon extends its sign up deadline to host the participants of the Tokyo Marathon, which has been cancelled

The organisers of the Zurich Seville Marathon have decided to extend the deadline for runner sign up after receiving the news of the cancellation of the Tokyo marathon, which would have taken place just a week after the marathon in the Andalusian capital. This way, the 38000 runners which had planned to run the Tokyo Marathon and had trained hard to over the last months, will have the chance to travel to Seville to run alongside the 13500 runners this Sunday.

The deadline for signing up was originally set to today, but it has been extended to Wednesday so that the people who had signed up to the Tokyo Marathon and want to benefit from their training for the cancelled marathon.

The Zurich Seville Marathon which hosts the Spanish National Championship, and will have Olympic places on the line, will be held on Sunday the 23rd of February at 8:30 a.m. The Zurich Seville marathon stands as one of the bests marathons in the World, proven by the fact that for another consecutive year it holds the IAAF Gold Road Race label.
