WHEN AND WHERE IS HELD THE ZURICH SEVILLE CITY MARATHON 2024?

The Zurich Seville City Marathon 2024 will be held in Seville City on 18 February 2024 at 8.30 am. The Start and the Finish Line of the race will be in Paseo de las Delicias, in Buenos Aires roundabout, near Plaza de España.

IS THERE ANY TIME LIMITATION TO COMPLETE THE RACE?

Yes. The maximum time to complete the marathon is 6 hours, so the finishing line will be closed at 14.30.

WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION PERIOD?

From 9th March 2023 until Monday, 12nd February 2024 at 23.59 or until all the 12,000 available bibs have been taken

WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES?

  • Junior M / W: Born 2005 and 2006 (of legal age on race day)
  • Promising Talent M / W: Born 2021 to 2004
  • Senior M / W: Born 2001 up to Veteran (35 years old)
  • Veteran M 35 / W 35: From 35 to 39 years old
  • Veteran M 40 / W 40: From 40 to 44 years old
  • Veteran M 45 / W 45: From 45 to 49 years old
  • Veteran M 50 / W 50: From 50 to 54 years old
  • Veteran M 55 / W 55: From 55 to 59 years old

WHERE AND WHEN ARE THE BIBS AND THE GOODY BAGS TO BE COLLECTED?

Bibs and goody bags will only be handed out in the runners exhibition MARATHON EXPO (FIBES, Avda. Alcalde Luis Uruñuela, 1, 41020 Seville), on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 February 2024, between 10:00 and 20:00 (uninterrupted). Access is free for runners and accompanying persons.

WHAT DO I NEED TO COLLECT THE BIB AND THE GOODY BAG?

To collect their bibs, runners will have to show their registration receipt/copy of the registration and their Identity Card/Passport or other document that identifies them. To collect a runner's goody bag, the runner must show his or her bib.

If a runner cannot collect his or her bib, it may be collected by another person provided that they have the registration receipt or a copy of the registration and a photocopy of the runner's Identity Card and an authorisation signed by that runner.

No bibs or goody bags will be handed out on the day of the race.

WHAT DOES A RUNNER'S GOODY BAG CONTAIN?

A runner's goody bag contains the Zurich Seville City Marathon's official-shirt, the kit bag that must be used for the baggage/cloakroom service, sticker for the for the baggage/cloakroom service, AIMS magazine, and several promotional gifts of the Marathon sponsors.

WHAT KIND OF CHIP IS USED AND WHEN IS IT DELIVERED?

The chip of the 38th Zurich Seville City Marathon will be a bib-chip, i.e. the bib comes with the chip already placed on its back. The chip must not be returned at the end of the race.

IS IT MANDATORY TO FILL IN ALL THE DATA ON THE BACK OF THE BIB?

Yes. In the event of a medical emergency, such data will facilitate rapid and efficient action in case of allergies, illnesses or to promptly warn a family member or someone you know.

IS THERE BAGGAGE/CLOAKROOM SERVICE AVAILABLE?

Yes. The Organisation will provide a baggage/cloakroom service. It will be located in the Avenida Santiago Montoto, in Sevilla port, near to Aquarium of Sevilla and 500 m. away from the starting and the finishing line.

ARE THERE WCs? WHERE WILL THEY BE LOCATED?

Yes. The Organisation will make available portable toilets. They will be located in the start and finish areas and at different points along the course (km 5, 10, 15, half-marathon, 25, 30, 35 and 40).

WHERE WILL THE ENERGY STATIONS BE LOCATED?

There will be energy stations with water and isotonic drinks at the following points on the course:

  • KM 5: Located on both sides of the road. Water. There will be a first aid station and portable toilets.
  • KM 7: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks.
  • KM 9,2: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks. There will be a first aid station and portable toilets.
  • KM 11.5: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks.
  • KM 15,7: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks. There will be a first aid station and portable toilets.
  • Km 17.6: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks.
  • KM 20,4: Located on both sides of the road. Water, isotonic drinks and 226ERS gels. There will be a first aid station and portable toilets.
  • KM 23.3: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks. Sponges.
  • KM 25,3: Located on both sides of the road. Water, isotonic drinks and solid food. There will be a first aid station, portable toilets.
  • KM 27.5: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks and gels.
  • KM 29,7: Located on right side of the road. Water , isotonic drinks and 226ERS gels. Solid food. There will be a first aid station and portable toilets.
  • KM 32.7: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks. Sponges.
  • KM 34,4: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks and solid food. There will be a first aid station and portable toilets.
  • KM 37.2: Located on left side of the road. Water and isotonic drinks and solid food.
  • KM 40,3: Located on both sides of the road. Water and isotonic drinks and solid food. There will be a first aid station and portable toilets.
  • FINISHING LINE: Water and isotonic drinks and solid food. There will be a first aid station and portable toilets.

Important:

  • The food and hydration stations will be sized to handle the 12,000 Marathon runners. Drinks/food will be set out on large numbers of tables. Runners are asked not to take the drinks/food from the first few tables in order to prevent a jam in the area.
  • At kilometres 20.4 and 29.7 there will be gels in addition to water and isotonic drinks on both sides of the road, served in glasses.
  • At kilometres 23.3 and 32,7 there will be sponges in addition to water and isotonic drinks.

SHOULD I READ THE RACE RULES?

Yes. All participants must know and comply with the rules of the marathon. Ignorance of the rules does not exempt runners from compliance.

COULD SOMEONE ACCOMPANY ME ON A BIKE DURING THE RACE?

NO. It is completely prohibited to follow the runners on a motorbike or a bike and the Local Police has express requirement to take off the course any person who does not comply with this rule, in order to avoid any accident involving the runners, the spectators or the organization members.

ARE THERE STARTING BOXES?

Yes. There will be starting boxes for WORLD ELITE, ELITE times, WHEELCHAIR, under 2h45’, under 3h, under 3h15’, under 3h30’, under 3h45’, under 4h and over 4h. In order to access the starting boxes, runners must communicate to the Organization at the time of registering the box he or she wants to opt to and his or her personal time accreditation, that must be equal or less to the time of the box he or she wants to opt to (only times achieved in the last 2 years in approved Marathon and Half-Marathon races will be valid).

ARE HALF-MARATHON TIME ACCREDITATIONS ALSO VALID TO ACCREDITATE TIMES AND ACCESS THE EXISTING STARTING BOXES?

Yes, Half-Marathon times achieved in the last 2 years in approved races will be valid. The equivalences would be under 1h 05' (elite), under 1h 15’ (under 2h 45’), under 1h 22’ (under 3h), under 1h 28’ (under 3h15’), under 1h 35’ (under 3h 30’), under 1h 40’ (under 3h 45’) and under 1h 45’ (under 4h).

ARE THERE PACEMAKERS?

Yes. There will be pacemakers for the following times: 2h45’, 3h, 3h15’, 3h30’, 3h45’, 4h, 4h30’ and 5h. They will be at the front of the corresponding boxes depending the time to achieve and they will be identified with a balloon and a customised t-shirt.
