How do I access the app?

To access the app you must identify yourself with the registration code provided by the organization. It usually has a format like: XXX-XXXXXXX. If you do not have it, contact the organization to provide it.

What do I have to set up on my phone?

The app will ask for your permission to track your location in order to measure the distance you run. For participating in the race, you must accept all the requests that may appear in this regard. Your data will only be used to track the race and the tracking will only be active while you are on the timing screen.

If you’re using an iPhone, make sure that in the set up you have configured that the app always locates you, so that if the app is background it continues recording your position.

You can check and give these permissions from:

Settings -> Scroll until you see the app icon -> Location -> Always

If you’re using a phone with Android 10 or newer software. You must give the "Always allow" permissions from the information screen of the app so that if the app is running background it can continue recording your position.

Should I adjust the saving mode or the battery optimization options?

If you’re using an Android phone, the battery saving and optimization functions can close the app while you are running and the phone screen is off. To avoid this, you must configure the app so that it can run in the background, add it to the Optimizer's exceptions list, or cancel the optimization.

This configuration can be done from the settings screen of the app or by accessing the following option depending on the brand of your phone:

HTC:

Settings> Battery> Battery optimization> Not optimized> All> SportLife VRaces> Do not optimize> Save.

Huawei:

Reset the battery settings and add ‘SportLife VRaces’ to "Protected apps".

Settings> Apps> Advanced> Ignore optimizations> Allowed> All> SportLife VRaces> Allow.

LG:

Settings> Battery> Battery and energy saving> Battery use> Ignore optimizations> Activate for SportLife VRaces.

Motorola:

Settings> Battery> select the menu in the upper right corner> Battery optimization> Not optimized> All> SportLife VRaces > Do not optimize.

OnePlus (with OxygenOS settings):

Settings> Battery optimization> select the menu above> switch to "All applications"> SportLife VRaces > Do not optimize.

Samsung:

Make sure they have the required permissions to be able to use your location. Settings> Apps> SportLife VRaces > Permissions> Activate location. Also make sure that you have allowed the ‘SportLife VRaces’ app to use GPS in the background.

Also keep in mind that during the first few meters of running the app may take about 10-20 seconds to show the first distance recorded depending on your speed and where you are.
